My father died when I was in 7th grade and my life immediately changed forever. I can hardly think of what life was like when my dad was alive. We didn’t have digital photography back then so I only have a handful of family photos from my childhood. I treasure those memories, those photos. I treasure those photographs because they help me remember what once was. They help me cherish my father forever.
When I was young, I would spend hours flipping through family photo albums (yes, physical photo ALBUMS lol) and would ask my parents to tell me the story behind the pictures. And you know what? I still can’t get over how pictures are the closest thing we have to freezing a moment in time.
